Financial Times Summit

I spoke at the Financial Times newspaper’s annual “Business of Luxury” summit on June 14, 2010 at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles.

The panel was called “Do 600,000 Facebook Friends Equal One Sale?” I argued that consumers have begun craving disconnectedness to offset digital overload, and forward-thinking businesses should factor this into their marketing and branding efforts. I don’t think a constant stream of emails and tweets is a smart way to sell anything.

Managed to work in a Lady Gaga allusion (“Stop calling me, I’m kinda busy”), which seemed to go over well.
